PORT DICKSON: More affordably priced tickets may be available for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar said the question was posed to him because Formula 1 can be expensive due to its prestige.
"Some asked me if there will be a Madani ticket? God-willing.
"However, these tickets won’t be front-row seats but perhaps further from the track," he said during an event with Negri Sembilan village development and security committee (JPKK) leaders here on Monday (July 27).

This comes after Formula 1 and Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) said that Malaysia will host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit from Oct 2 to 4, between the Azerbaijan and Singapore events.
The Sepang event, subject to final agreements and official sign-off, including the approval of the World Motor Sport Council, will become the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.
This agreement, reached between Formula 1, the FIA, the governments of Bahrain and Malaysia, allows Formula 1 to preserve a Grand Prix that would otherwise not have happened.
The rest of the race schedule for this year remains unchanged.

In mid-March, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, originally scheduled for April, were postponed following the Middle East conflict, reducing this season’s calendar from 24 to 22 races.
According to reports, if the final two races of the season in Qatar on Nov 29 and Abu Dhabi on Dec 6 cannot proceed because of the conflict, F1 management was considering several alternative venues.
As a result, the reports said Malaysia and Turkiye were among the candidates touted to host the race on Oct 4.
The Sepang International Circuit previously hosted the Malaysian Grand Prix from 1999 to 2017 before it was removed from the calendar due to rising hosting costs and licensing fees.
