IPOH: Two company directors pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court on Thursday (Aug 13) to charges of submitting false documents under the Social Security Organisation's (PERKESO) Daya Kerjaya 2.0 incentive claims two years ago.

Leong Chooi Ying, 47, and Phun Wing Kei, 31, entered their pleas after the charges were read separately before Judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmad Tarmizi.

Leong, a director of MS Solution Management Services and MN Tree Resources, is accused of submitting a false Employee Confirmation Form to a Perkeso officer with intent to deceive.

She allegedly committed the offences on March 14, 2024, and May 5, 2024, at Taman Sri Pengkalan.

Phun, a director of CKIN Management Services and Diligent Cleaning Solution, faces similar charges for submitting false forms to two Perkeso officers with the same intent.

He is accused of committing the offence at No. 30, Persiaran Rishah 25, Taman Silibin Ria, on April 15, 2024 and May 29, 2024.

Their charges were filed under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), which carries a maximum 20-year prison term and a fine of not less than five times the false claim, or RM10,000, whichever is higher.

MACC prosecuting officer P. Rubina appeared for the prosecution. Lawyers Damian Yeo Shen Li and Lim Kwang Ching represented Leong and Phun, respectively.

Bail was set at RM7,000 for Leong and RM8,000 for Phun, with one surety each. They were also ordered to report to the MACC monthly, surrender their passports, and avoid contacting witnesses.

Both case mentions were set for Sept 17. — Bernama
