PETALING JAYA: A man was trapped while another sustained injuries following a collision involving a lorry and a pickup truck along KM397.1 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) on Friday (Aug 7).
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said firefighters received an emergency call at 10.04am and arrived at the scene at 10.50am.
"The accident involved a cement lorry and a pickup truck.
"One man, believed to be in his 30s, was trapped inside the vehicle, while another man, also in his 30s, was thrown from the vehicle. He suffered head injuries and a fractured right arm," he said in a statement on Friday.
Ashrul Riezal said firefighters from the Bukit Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station immediately carried out extrication works to free the trapped victim.
He added that five firefighters and a fire engine were deployed to the scene.
Rescue operations were still ongoing at the time of the latest update.
