PLUS expands JustGO lanes to six more toll plazas in southern region

PETALING JAYA: PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) has expanded its JustGO lanes toll payment system to six more toll plazas in the southern region, allowing motorists to use any toll lane regardless of their payment method.

The latest rollout, which began at 10am Wednesday (July 15), covers the Mambau and Lukut toll plazas on the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH), the Kempas toll plaza on the North-South Expressway (NSE), as well as the Tanjung Kupang, Lima Kedai and Perling toll plazas on the Second Link Expressway.

PLUS said the expansion is part of the next phase of the nationwide rollout of the JustGO platform, which uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to enable open-payment tolls.

"Under the system, registered motorists can pass through any available toll lane without having to choose a dedicated lane based on their payment method.

"ANPR cameras automatically recognise a vehicle's registered number plate and process toll payments using the payment card linked to the user's JustGO mobile application," it said in a statement Wednesday.

To use the service, motorists need to download the JustGO app, register an account and their vehicle, and link a payment card.

PLUS said it is the first highway concessionaire in Malaysia to implement the ANPR-based open-payment tolling system across its highway network.

The JustGO pilot was first introduced at nine toll plazas between Hutan Kampung and Sungai Dua on the NSE in January this year.

In June, the service was expanded to the Jitra toll plaza on the NSE, as well as the Lunas and Kubang Semang toll plazas on the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway.

With the latest expansion, JustGO is now available at 18 toll plazas across the PLUS highway network.

The company said the rollout will continue, with the system expected to be activated at all PLUS-operated toll plazas beginning August this year.
