MARANG: The Terengganu Bersatu chief Datuk Razali Idris and two other party leaders in Terengganu have announced their resignations from party positions.
Razali Idris said he had sent his resignation letter as the state party chief and other party positions to Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on July 16.
However, Razali, who holds the position of Terengganu State Executive Council member, said that so far no response has been received from the top leadership regarding the resignation letter.
"So far, the party headquarters, including Muhyiddin, have not confirmed or made a decision to accept or reject my resignation.
"I will also resign as the Marang Bersatu division chief in the middle of this month. I had to postpone it for a while because I have administrative tasks that I need to complete before resigning," he said when contacted on Friday (Aug 7).
Telemong state assemblyman Mohd Zawawi Ismail has resigned as the Terengganu Bersatu information chief while Hulu Besut assemblyman Mohd Husaimi Hussin has resigned as the Terengganu Bersatu treasurer.
Mohd Zawawi and Mohd Husaimi, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed their respective resignations from the party and will send an official letter to the central Bersatu leadership regarding their resignations from party positions.
However, Razali, Mohd Zawawi and Mohd Husaimi said the three of them still remain as party members and are only resigning from state leadership bodies. — Bernama
