VETERAN actor Rahim Omar has vowed to settle his rental arrears debt of RM7,000, saying improving work opportunities this year have helped him rebuild his finances, reported Kosmo!.
The 66-year-old denied that the delayed payments were due to him avoiding responsibility.
“Right now, my finances have stabilised because I suffered losses amounting to RM500,000 but I didn’t tell anyone.
“I’m confident that with this year’s blessings, I will settle everything. I won’t run away,” he told the daily during the reality singing competition Kilauan Emas Selebriti 2026 announcement on Tuesday.
Rahim said his financial hardship began after he stopped receiving acting offers from July last year, forcing his family to rely partly on zakat assistance.
The actor also revealed that he was evicted from the property he was renting, but had since moved into another home provided by a kind-hearted person.
Previously, screenshots allegedly showing unpaid rent claims went viral online after Rahim was announced as a Kilauan Emas Selebriti contestant.

Ahmad Aslam Mohamad Ali, 30, said the overwhelming challenges of agricultural entrepreneurship made him decide to take a break and hand control of his business to his younger brother.
While on break, he decided to attend an interview to be a security guard.
“I didn’t have any experience, so I never expected to be hired but I’ve adapted well and am enjoying the job so far,” he said.
Ahmad Aslam said he was surprised by how much discipline and commitment being a security guard demands, as well as the long shift hours.
“I feel lucky to have learnt the reality of being a security guard as it’s not easy. It requires discipline and sacrifice of time and energy.
“I’m also very fortunate that my wife didn’t object because she knows I work to provide for her and our two children,” he said.
He added that he plans to return to agricultural entrepreneurship eventually with plans for a stingless bee project.

The 35-year old declined to comment on his current relationship status when met by media during the launch of iQIYI’s new drama Madu Atau Racun.
“I’m not playing the victim as I only seek the strength to forgive myself because life must go on.
“If I want a good partner, I must first become a good person,” he said.
This comes after Aliff and actress Bella Astillah divorced for the second time in June 2024.
They had previously reconciled following an earlier divorce in 2019.
