TWO young men in Tamil Nadu, India, who stopped their jeep in a lake when the water was shallow and slept, had to be rescued after the rising water trapped them, Makkal Osai reported.
The duo apparently drove into the lake in Dharmapuri while they were intoxicated.
They decided to sleep there for the night but were jolted awake when water level rose due to heavy rain overnight.
The two men managed to shout for help from the locals who contacted rescue personnel.
Officials managed to pull out the jeep using heavy construction machinery.
It was not stated whether they would face any charges.

Makkal Osai reported that he was honoured during the graduation and certificate presentation ceremony for Varmakalai and Silambam students of the Persatuan Seni Pertahanan Diri Varmam of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
Kaniappan was honoured for standardising Varmakalai and Siddha medicine with a proper syllabus.
