Umno postpones annual general assembly for Sept 9 to 12

PETALING JAYA: Umno will hold its four-day annual general assembly from Sept 9 to 12, the party announced Wednesday (Aug 5).

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said in a statement that the assembly opens on Sept 9 with the president's briefing, followed by the opening of the Wanita, Youth, and Puteri assemblies. The three wing assemblies continue on Sept 10.

The main Umno General Assembly takes place on Sept 11 and 12.

Party officials stated the gathering aims to reinforce Umno's commitment to Malay and Bumiputera interests while strengthening internal unity.
