KOTA KINABALU: PETRONAS has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Sabah’s oil and gas industry with the launch of two digital platforms developed in collaboration with the state government.
The two platforms, the Permohonan Online Pekerjaan dan Latihan Dalam Industri Minyak dan Gas (POMIGAS) and the Sabah Work Pass Online System (SWPOS), were launched yesterday.
According to a PETRONAS statement, POMIGAS is a centralised online platform integrated with the Sabah jobs portal ecosystem to provide Sabahans, particularly youths, graduates and job seekers, with access to employment matching and training opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
The platform also supports workforce readiness by connecting local talent with industry needs while strengthening Sabah’s oil and gas talent pipeline, it added.
PETRONAS said the SWPOS will enable employers to submit documents, monitor application status and facilitate the processing of work pass applications in coordination with the relevant immigration and labour authorities.
PETRONAS Sabah and Labuan Regional Office general manager Datuk Siti Ayu Abdul Wahab said the national oil company remains committed to unlocking the potential of Sabah’s local talent.
“This is through supporting initiatives that enhance workforce capabilities, improve access to industry opportunities and contribute towards building a skilled and future-ready oil and gas workforce,” she said.
