PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) has assured that the Federal Government will continue to support and cooperate with the incoming Negri Sembilan state government.
“The Federal Government will continue to extend its support and cooperation to the new Negri Sembilan state government for the well-being and prosperity of the state and its people,” he said in a Facebook post congratulating Barisan Nasional on its victory in the state election.
Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, took the opportunity to thank voters who came out to cast their ballots.
“Congratulations to Barisan Nasional on the mandate entrusted to them by the people of Negri Sembilan.
“I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to all voters who participated wholeheartedly in the democratic process that has just concluded.”
Anwar also expressed his gratitude to the people of Negri Sembilan for placing their trust in Pakatan Harapan and Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who served as the state’s mentri besar over the past eight years.
“Throughout that period, Pakatan Harapan built a legacy of exemplary governance founded on good governance, stability and development that benefited the people. May this legacy continue to be strengthened for the continued progress of Negri Sembilan,” he said.
According to unofficial results, Pakatan Harapan won 11 of the 36 seats it contested.
