PORT DICKSON: The images and videos used as evidence of vote-buying by MCA in Chuah are faked using AI, the party says.
MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon said a pro-DAP Facebook page was publishing doctored videos and screenshots to falsely link his party to a viral cash handout.
He slammed the material as nothing more than a baseless smear
“Anyone who looks carefully can spot the poorly crafted AI-generated image. The fingers of the people in it are distorted, and even the identity card on the table is stretched beyond recognition,” he said.
He urged police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to trace those responsible, adding that Barisan Nasional’s Chuah candidate, Pau Jeou Ching, lodged a police report on Wednesday night (July 29).

“The police and the MCMC should immediately launch a thorough investigation, find those responsible and bring them to justice,” he said.
Chong said elections should be won on policies and service, not through fabrication and cyberbullying. He urged voters to reject such tactics.
Pau, who is known as Ah Pau, said the clip had been put out to smear him, showing cash being handed out with handbills linked to him in view.
“I condemn in the strongest terms any attempt at slander, the deliberate manipulation of video footage, or the use of technology to confuse the public.
“The public is urged not to be taken in by the slander, to stop spreading fake news and to give the police room to carry out their investigation,” he said.

The row stems from a viral video of a cash handout at a restaurant in Bukit Pelanduk that surfaced this week and drew vote-buying claims. The footage remains unverified.
Chuah goes to the polls on Saturday (Aug 1) in a straight fight between Pau and incumbent Datuk Yew Boon Lye of Pakatan Harapan.
