Melaka polls: PH yet to finalise cooperation with other parties, Fuziah says

KUANTAN: Pakatan Harapan has not reached any concrete agreement on possible political cooperation with other parties for the Nov 14 Melaka state election.

Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh, who is Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general, said, however, that seat-allocation negotiations among its three component parties - PKR, DAP and Amanah - had been finalised.

She said Pakatan was expected to contest more than 20 state seats, with nine allocated to PKR.

"So far, there has been no concrete agreement on political cooperation with other parties. Seat allocation negotiations among PKR, DAP and Amanah have been completed," she said.

Fuziah, who is also Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, was speaking at a press conference after closing the Akses Peruncitan 2026 programme at a hotel here on Sunday (Oct 18).

She said Pakatan chairman and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was scheduled to announce the coalition's list of candidates in Melaka next Saturday.

The Election Commission has set Oct 31 for nomination, Nov 10 for early voting and Nov 14 for polling.

In the 2021 state election, Barisan Nasional won 21 of the 28 seats to form the state government, while Pakatan secured five seats and Perikatan Nasional won two. - Bernama
