All schools in Selangor to operate as usual on Oct 19, outdoor activities suspended

SHAH ALAM: All educational institutions under the Selangor State Education Department will operate as usual on Monday (Oct 19).

However, all outdoor activities have been temporarily suspended.

In a media statement issued on Sunday (Oct 18), the Selangor Education Department outlined several safety directives for schools, parents, and guardians.

Students attending classes are encouraged to wear face masks, while parents and guardians who have health concerns regarding their children are permitted to keep them at home, provided they inform the school authorities.

Additionally, school administrators have been instructed to continuously monitor the Air Pollutant Index (API) provided by the Environment Department and give special attention to high-risk students.

The Selangor Education Department also advised parents, guardians and school staff to refer to official communication channels from the department or their respective schools for accurate and up-to-date information.
