KUALA LUMPUR: After seven years of legal battles, Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad wants to live her life following her acquittal in a RM2.8mil graft case by the Sessions Court.
“I just want to live my life. I have a big responsibility with five children, and I am a single mother now,” she said while holding back tears outside the court yesterday.
Speaking to the press after the proceedings ended, Zizie Izette thanked her legal team and the court for the decision that freed her of the charges against her.
“I wish my late husband were here with me. I imagined that he was right next to me when the decision was delivered.
“I keep my life private and don’t share everything.
“It is enough that I have kept it all in for seven years. Today, I feel so relieved,” she added.
Earlier, the Sessions Court acquitted her of three counts of abetting her late husband, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, over a RM2.8mil bribe involving a RM150mil unit trust investment.
Bung Moktar died on Dec 5, 2025, from complications brought on by a severe lung infection and kidney failure.
