Fallen trees block road in Bangi after downpour


BANGI: Two fallen trees blocked a road while another crashed onto a house in Kampung Batu 3, Bandar Baru Bangi, on Saturday (July 18) afternoon.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Ashbar said the department received an emergency call at 4.18pm.

He said a team from the Kajang Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 4.40pm.

"The incident commander found that two trees had fallen and were blocking the road, while another had fallen onto a resident's house.

"The firemen used chain saws to remove the trees and cutting works are ongoing," he said in a statement Saturday.

Ashrul Riezal said the operation involved nine personnel, a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.

"The situation was brought under control at 4.45pm," he said.
