Forest City pledges full cooperation, documentation in 'Network School' probe

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Forest City is prepared to cooperate with the Home Ministry and relevant agencies investigating ‘Network School’ following allegations that Israeli nationals were among its participants.

Forest City said it would provide all related documentation to facilitate the investigation.

“Forest City reiterates our zero tolerance towards any breach of the law, misuse of premises, immigration non-compliance or activity that could jeopardise public safety, public order or national interests,” it said in a statement on Wednesday (July 15).

Forest City said it also would enforce its full legal and contractual rights should the authorities establish any legal, immigration, licensing, land-use or contractual breach.

The statement follows Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi’s call for the Home Ministry, Immigration Department, police, Customs Department and other relevant agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the school.

On Tuesday (July 14), he highlighted public concern over the operations of the school, including allegations that Israeli nationals had participated in its programmes using second passports.

There has been speculation online over the school’s operations and its participants, who are mostly foreigners, with Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman also commenting on the matter.

In an immediate response, the Home Ministry said investigations by the police and the Immigration Department are underway to identify the nationalities of those involved, as well as the status and validity of the travel documents used.

The ministry said any violations of the law, misuse of immigration passes, provision of false information or any other offences that threaten national security and interests would be subjected to firm action without compromise.
