SEPANG: Police have arrested a man after he was apprehended by the public for committing a lewd act in front of a woman.
In a statement on Wednesday (July 15), Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman said that the suspect, a foreigner in his 20s, was caught by members of the public on Tuesday (July 14) after committing the act near a supermarket in Cyberjaya.
"Fearing for her safety, the woman sought assistance from members of the public. Several bystanders successfully detained the suspect before handing him over to the police," he said.
He added that investigations are being conducted under Section 377D of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
