SHAH ALAM: The suspect in the stabbing incident at a school in Banting jumped off a building on the premises last year, police said.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the matter at a press conference on Thursday (July 9).
"I do not deny the fact. A police report on the matter was made late last year," he said.
He added that preliminary investigations indicated the attack's motive was supposed bullying by her targets, but there were no credible statements to back the claim.

"Investigations are ongoing. Our preliminary findings showed that the reasoning behind the attack was the suspect’s feelings of hatred towards several individuals said to have bullied her.
"However, statements recorded have not indicated that bullying occurred. Having said, that please give us room to conduct a full investigation so that we can get to the bottom of this," he said.
Investigations also found that the suspect had been homeschooled for the last eight months owing to what was described as illness, and used an e-hailing service to go to the school on the day of the stabbing.
Comm Shazeli also confirmed that the suspect was suffering from mental health issues including depression. She was also confirmed to be autistic and a Kad OKU (disability card) holder.
Investigations are also focused on her social media usage, he added.
"With regard to... social media, we believe it may have influenced the suspect's mindset and behaviour. However, I cannot specify which platform was involved as the matter is still under investigation.
"What we can say is that efforts are still being carried out to ensure that those underage do not have access to social media, as the government has stated under the proposed new law.
"Perhaps enforcement requires some time, and it was during this period that the suspect was able to obtain the weapon used online," he said.

Comm Shazeli said the stabbing victim is in stable condition and has been interviewed by the police.
"We have recorded statements from all of those listed in the suspect’s notes," he said.
On Monday (July 6), a 15-year-old girl was arrested following the stabbing of a fellow student at a secondary school in Banting.
Before the incident, the suspect was reportedly seen entering the school compound through the main entrance wearing a black T-shirt and red checkered trousers.
Several videos of the incident have since surfaced on social media, showing a teenage girl dressed in black walking around the school compound holding a knife as students run for safety.
