IPOH: The police have arrested a 29-year-old man, seized RM6,547 worth of drugs and found a stash of imitation weapons in Sitiawan, Manjung.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the arrest was made on July 1 between 7.15pm and 10pm following an investigation.
"Police first stopped the man in a car at Taman Terus Maju in Sitiawan, where about 66.6g of substances, believed to be MDMA (ecstasy), were found in three red plastic bags.
"The police then raided a house at Jalan Kampung Cina and found 12 plastic bags containing 64.3g of ketamine," he said during a press conference at the state police contingent headquarters here on Monday (July 6).
He said further checks of a wooden hut behind the house found several imitation weapons, which looked like a pistol, rifles and crossbows.
"We also found 208 live bullets and eight empty casings.
"Initial investigations found that the suspect collects imitation weapons," he said, adding that the suspect also tested positive for ketamine.
Comm Mohd Alwi said the unemployed suspect is believed to have been selling drugs in the past four months.
"The drugs seized could be used by about 100 individuals," he said.
The case, he added, would be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act and Section 8(a) of the Arms Act.
"The suspect is being remanded for six days from July 2 to 7 to facilitate investigations," he said.
