Accident claims life of 69-year-old motorcyclist on North-South Expressway


KULAI: A 69-year-old motorcyclist was killed after crashing into the road divider along the North-South Expressway here.

Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said the accident occurred at KM37.3 of the expressway heading south at about 5pm on Friday (July 3).

He said police investigations found that the local man was travelling from the north towards the south when he was believed to have lost control of his motorcycle before skidding and crashing into the road divider in the middle of the highway.

"The rider suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement.

ACP Tan said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged those with information about the accident to contact investigating officer Insp Ahmad Safuan Abu Naim at 017-757 3507 to assist in the investigation.
