More aid awaits certified MSMEs

PARIT: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the global supply crisis can obtain information on financial assistance under the People’s Industry and Business Support Programme (Sinar) through SME Corp Malaysia.

Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin (pic) said RM205mil had been allocated under the programme to help MSMEs remain competitive while easing the burden caused by the crisis.

“All facilities under the Sinar programme are administered by SME Corp. Entrepreneurs can obtain further information and submit applications for the capital injection needed to strengthen their businesses.

“Eligible entrepreneurs may apply for financing of up to RM5mil, depending on their business needs and size,” he told Bernama.

On June 7, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim said the RM205mil programme comprises five financial and non-financial initiatives to help MSMEs maintain cash flow, sustain operations and strengthen business resilience.
