"In the incident at about 2.40am on June 20, the suspect rammed the roadblock before hitting an ASP-ranked senior police officer who was on duty, causing injuries to the victim’s waist and right elbow.

"The suspect fled the scene before being arrested around 7 am the same day at Jalan Bintara, Samariang, following intelligence and further police action,” he said in a statement Tuesday (June 23).

He said preliminary urine screening found the suspect positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and benzodiazepine, while further checks revealed that he had six prior criminal records for various offences.
