Delivery rider involved in alleged RM10,000 theft released on bail

KAJANG: The delivery driver previously arrested by the police as part of investigations into the suspected theft of RM10,000 from a missing wallet he returned has been released on bail.

“The suspect has been released on police bail as part of the process to complete investigations. Further developments will be notified,” said Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said when contacted Tuesday (June 23).

On June 18, the suspect was arrested following a viral video from a Chinese national stating that she had lost her wallet containing RM10,000 in cash at a supermarket in Semenyih.

The woman later met a man who claimed to have found and returned the empty wallet. However, the man denied taking the cash.

“Following investigations, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kajang district police headquarters arrested a 37-year-old man at 1am on Thursday," ACP Naazron said in a previous statement.
