Worker drowns in water tower in Sungai Buloh


PETALING JAYA: A worker has drowned in the tank on top of a water tower in Sungai Buloh.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said that the body was found on Tuesday (June 16).

It is believed that the 24-year-old victim was unable get out after falling into the tank in Jalan Saujana Perdana 18, while carrying out maintenance work.

"The operations commander reported that there was an unconscious man in the water tank at the tower.

"Based on information from the caller, the victim is believed to have drowned inside the water tank," he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 17).

He added that firefighters later retrieved the victim's body from the tank.

The victim was pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel and his body was handed over to the police for further action.
