Cops looking for suspect who assaulted, threatened victim with gun in Desa Petaling


KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking down a man for alleged assault and criminal intimidation involving a firearm in Desa Petaling last week.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud confirmed the ongoing investigation when contacted on Wednesday (June 17).

"We can confirm that the incident occurred at 11.05am on June 9 at a restaurant in Desa Sri Puteri.

"It is alleged that a 31-year-old man assaulted and threatened the complainant by displaying an object resembling a firearm.

"The case is being investigated under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Penal Code, as well as Section 8 of the Arms Act 1960.

"Investigations are ongoing," he said.
