SHAH ALAM: Although political relations between PAS and Bersatu are no longer aligned, assemblymen from both opposition parties appeared in unison wearing royal blue at the Special Selangor State Legislative Assembly meeting on Friday (June 19).
According to Sinar Harian, the colour chosen by the opposition bloc matched the attire of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari when he presented Phase 2 of the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package.
The presence of the opposition assemblymen in matching outfits caught the attention of observers and media personnel attending the special meeting.
The situation sparked various reactions, including jokes that they were still united in terms of clothing colour despite no longer moving in one political coalition.
Earlier, PAS shocked the national political landscape by resolving to immediately terminate political cooperation with its ally in Perikatan, Bersatu.
The decision was made during the Special Central PAS Working Committee meeting held to discuss the party's direction in facing a new political phase.
PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision to sever ties was made after the party examined the position and direction of PAS-Bersatu political cooperation based on reports, studies and current comprehensive evaluations.
