TWO weeks lost in the wilderness taught hiker Jaslinda Saludin (pic) a simple lesson about survival – that a drink of water can be more valuable than any amount of cash, Kosmo! Ahad reported.
For the 49-year-old mother of two, a single sip of water became more valuable while trying to find her way out of the wilderness.
“The only things on my mind were my children and staying alive. If I had been offered a choice between money and water, I would have taken the water.
“The thirst was indescribable. It made me realise how precious even the simplest things can be,” she said.
She also had to endure the damp and chilly conditions deep in the jungle.
To warm herself, she sought out sunny spots whenever possible.
“The sunburn on my face was a result of spending hours under the sun,” she said.
Jaslinda also revealed that she fractured her right ankle after falling into a river on the second day of her disappearance.
Despite the injury, she continued moving in the hope of finding a way out.
“Thankfully, I was still able to move despite the pain,” she said.
> While many artistes dream of filling stadiums and dazzling audiences with elaborate productions, singer-songwriter Aizat Amdan is happiest with a guitar in hand and a small crowd in front of him, Mingguan Malaysia reported.
“I am always happy whenever I get to perform acoustically because that is where my strength lies. A small stage is more than enough for me as a singer and songwriter.
“All I need is my voice and my guitar, and that gives me confidence,” he said.
