Armed Forces expresses appreciation for Johor Regent's unwavering support


KUALA LUMPUR: The Armed Forces has expressed its appreciation to Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim for his unwavering support towards the military.

The Armed Forces said Tunku Ismail's remarks reflected the strong strategic synergy between the royal institution, the Johor state government and the military.

"We also welcome the Johor government’s readiness to provide full cooperation and space for the implementation of military exercises," the military said in a statement on Wednesday (May 27).

The statement described the cooperation as crucial in ensuring the Armed Forces’ operational readiness.

"At the same time, we highly appreciate Tunku Ismail's assurance to continue supporting and engaging with military veterans," it added.

The military noted that this engagement will undoubtedly boost the morale of service personnel.

The Armed Forces said the recognition given to retired servicemen demonstrated that their sacrifices and contributions continued to be valued.

The military also stressed that it operated in accordance with the law.

It added that its national defence mandate was carried out holistically beyond geographical boundaries.

"Consistent and realistic field training remained a vital requirement in strengthening tactical competency among military personnel," the statement said.

This training ensures the nation’s defence preparedness remains at the highest level.

The Armed Forces said it would continue focusing its resources and expertise on its core national defence objectives.

It also pledged to maintain professionalism in carrying out its duties.

"We will always place the safety of the people and the sovereignty of the nation as its utmost priority under the reign of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia," the military said.
