Muhammad Faiz Muhamad Ramly, 31, entered the plea before Magistrate Syed Farid Syed Ali on Monday (May 25).

On the first two counts, he was charged with committing physical sexual assault on an eight-year-old boy at Madrasah Kuning in Jeli Lama, Jeli, between 1.10pm and 5pm on May 9.

For the third and fourth charges, he was accused of committing physical sexual assault on a six-year-old boy and producing obscene images involving the child at a house in Kampung Layat, Jeli, in May last year.

The first three charges were framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017, which provides for up to 20 years' jail and possibly caning upon conviction.

The fourth charge was framed under Section 5 of the Act, which carries a prison sentence of up to 30 years and not fewer than six strokes of the cane if convicted.
