Ramanan receives courtesy visit from Indonesian minister to discuss worker protection


PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has received a courtesy visit from Indonesian Minister of Migrant Worker Protection Mukhtarudin and his delegation.

"The meeting discussed various matters related to cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia, specifically in the aspects of management, protection and workforce development involving Indonesian workers in this country.

"Close relations between these two regional countries are very important in supporting sustainable economic growth, while strengthening the wellbeing and welfare of workers," said Ramanan in a statement on Friday (May 22).

Malaysia and Indonesia are strategic partners with long-standing bilateral relations covering trade, investment, security and labour.

He added that he hopes these close ties will continue to be strengthened for mutual prosperity and the benefit of people in both countries.
