Form 1 student dies after losing consciousness in dormitory


GUA MUSANG: A male Form 1 student was found unconscious in a secondary school dormitory in Paloh here, before being confirmed dead due to sudden bleeding in the head and fluid in the lungs on Tuesday (May 12).

Gua Musang District Police Chief, Supt Sik Choon Foo, said his department received a report regarding the incident at 8.53am from the teenager's father, who reported that his son was unconscious in the school dormitory, reported Sinar Harian.

According to him, the 13-year-old victim was then taken by the school to the Chiku 3 Health Clinic for further treatment.

"However, medical officers at the clinic confirmed that the victim had died."

"Following that, a post-mortem examination was conducted at 3.30pm at Gua Musang Hospital," he said in a statement to reporters on Wednesday (May 13.

He said that initial investigations found that the cause of death was spontaneous bleeding in the head and fluid in the lungs.

"Further investigation also found that there were no criminal elements involved in this incident," he said.

According to him, the student's body has been handed over to the family for burial.

He added that the case is classified as sudden death, and further investigations are still ongoing.

"The public is advised not to make any speculation that could disturb the sensitivity of the victim's family," he said.
