Afdlin Shauki urges PKR to field division chiefs as GE candidates

AYER KEROH: Setiawangsa PKR chief Datuk Afdlin Shauki Aksan has proposed that party division chiefs be fielded as candidates in the upcoming general election.

“This proposal may be welcomed by some and disliked by others. But I have to say it,” he said during his debate at the PKR National Congress on Saturday (Aug 15).

He said that the party can assess their performance and those who do not perform can be replaced.

“However, if the branch chiefs who are named do not perform well, they can be replaced by others,” he said.

“If they do not perform in the next year or so, replace them. If they cannot do the job, replace them.”

“But name them as candidates first so that they can get to work, earn the people’s trust and perhaps receive support from those who are willing to help,” he added.

The congress, which began on Thursday, will end on Sunday.
