Sabah approves RM12.02bil development plan

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah approved RM12.02bil under the 13th Malaysia Plan for 1,173 programmes and projects, says Chief Minister Hajiji Noor.

“The construction sector would play a central role in Sabah’s development,” he said in a speech at the opening ceremony of the International Construction Week (ICW) Borneo and BuildXpo on Tuesday (May 12), read by Deputy Chief Minister II cum Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

He said the allocation was the largest in the state’s history.

He said the funds would support roads, healthcare facilities, utilities and digital connectivity. He said the Pan Borneo Highway would improve access and support economic activity.

Hajiji said the government would prioritise faster project delivery, better coordination and long-term value.

He said the state would also focus on transport networks, logistics, ports, affordable housing and industry standards.
