UTeM signs advanced computing MOU with GSOTU


MELAKA: Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) said it has signed a partnership with Russia’s Grozny State Oil Technical University (GSOTU) on advanced computing.

UTeM's vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Ts. Dr Massila Kamalrudin, said it covered ICT expertise sharing, joint research, student mobility programmes and matching grants.

“This collaboration opens up significant opportunities for UTeM to move more aggressively on the global stage, particularly in the fields of technology and innovation.

“It not only strengthens our international network but also provides direct benefits to students and academic staff,” she said on Wednesday (May 6).

Massila said the partnership aimed to support research, academic publications and international seminars. She said the programme also gave undergraduates overseas learning opportunities.

Earlier, the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Russia was witnessed by the Higher Education Ministry's secretary-general, Datuk Dr Anesee Ibrahim.

The ceremony was also attended by the Russian deputy minister of science and higher education, Airat Gatiyatov, and GSOTU head of international cooperation, Rustam Amerkhanov.

Also present were the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Assoc Prof Dr Nadlene Razali, and the director of the Corporate and Global Strategic Relations Centre, Hazman Hasib.
