PANASONIC Malaysia has announced the official launch of two major next-generation solution ecosystems for the Malaysian market – the Panasonic S.iCITY Smart Living Solution and Panasonic AI Smart Surveillance Ecosystem.

Designed for commercial developments, residential projects, government infrastructure, educational institutions and smart city applications, the new solutions go beyond traditional product-based offerings.

Together, these solutions deliver a fully connected ecosystem that integrates smart living, intelligent security, energy efficiency and sustainable lifestyle technologies into one seamless experience.

The launch reflects Panasonic Malaysia’s strategic direction toward solution-driven innovation that supports the nation’s digital transformation and growing demand for safer, greener and more connected environments.

Smart living for modern communities

At the heart of the launch is the Panasonic S.iCITY Smart Living Solution, a comprehensive smart home ecosystem developed to support current and future-ready residential developments.

Powered by Zigbee 3.0 and WiFi hybrid architecture, the smart home ecosystem enables users to manage lighting, motorised curtains, air conditioning, appliances, smart locks, gas safety sensors and other connected devices through a single mobile application.

Rather than focusing on individual devices, the S.iCITY Smart Living Solution is a holistic smart living platform designed to enhance daily lifestyle experiences while improving operational efficiency, resident safety and long-term sustainability for developers and building owners.

The solution supports:

> Centralised smart living management;

> Intelligent automation and scene control;

> Smart access and visitor management;

> Gas leakage and safety monitoring;

> Voice assistant integration; and

> Future energy monitoring capabilities.

Additionally, with automation scene selection such as “Good Night”, “Away Mode” and “Movie Mode”, the platform delivers intuitive convenience while helping users reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

It is also designed to be integrated with Panasonic’s broader ecosystem of eco-conscious technologies, including inverter energy-efficient air conditioning systems, refrigerators, washing machines, ventilation solutions and other connected home appliances.

Panasonic’s AI Smart Surveillance Ecosystem support diverse environments, including commercial buildings, government facilities, educational campuses, smart townships and more.

Surveillance for smarter, safer environments

Panasonic Malaysia also introduced its new AI Smart Surveillance Ecosystem, a comprehensive security solution engineered to address the evolving needs of modern infrastructure and public safety.

The ecosystem comprises Panasonic’s latest E-Series, V-Series and P-Series surveillance cameras, supported by enterprise-grade network video recorders (NVR) and video management systems (VMS).

Built with AI-enabled analytics, cybersecurity protection, open architecture compatibility and intelligent automation, the ecosystem combines surveillance, analytics, communication and smart infrastructure into one connected platform, enabling organisations to move from reactive monitoring toward proactive security operations.

It is designed to support diverse environments, including commercial buildings, government facilities, educational campuses, smart townships, critical infrastructure, industrial facilities and residential developments.

Among the key capabilities are:

> AI-powered video analytics;

> Intelligent intrusion and perimeter detection;

> Face recognition and ANPR (car license plate recognition) technology;

> Thermal imaging solutions;

> Smart incident management;

> Cybersecure system architecture; and

> Scalable enterprise-grade surveillance management.

Supporting sustainability and smart development

As sustainability becomes increasingly important across urban planning and infrastructure development, Panasonic Malaysia is positioning both ecosystems as part of a larger environmental and smart community strategy.

The company’s integrated approach combines intelligent automation with eco-friendly technologies, including:

> Energy-efficient air conditioning systems;

> Indoor air quality and ventilation solutions;

> Smart appliance ecosystems;

> Low-energy automation technologies; and

> Intelligent monitoring and optimisation systems.

These features support developers and organisations seeking green building compliance, ESG alignment, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability objectives.

Designed for communities

The newly launched ecosystems are strategically developed for sectors requiring scalable, reliable and future-ready infrastructure solutions.

For property developers, Panasonic’s integrated ecosystems provide enhanced project differentiation, stronger lifestyle positioning and long-term smart infrastructure readiness.

For commercial and government sectors, the platforms support operational efficiency, centralised management, improved security awareness and future digital transformation initiatives.

Meanwhile, in education environments, Panasonic’s solutions help create safer and more connected campuses with intelligent monitoring, controlled access and integrated communication systems.

Speaking during the launch, Panasonic Malaysia system solutions and strategic B2B associate director Seelan Kandasamy said that the rollout of the new solutions represents the company’s transformation from a traditional hardware provider into a complete smart solutions partner.

“We are not simply introducing products – we are delivering integrated ecosystems that improve how people live, work, learn and interact within safer and more sustainable environments,” he said.

“Through our Smart Living and AI Surveillance ecosystems, we aim to support Malaysia’s future smart communities by delivering solutions centred around: Safety. Convenience. Comfort.

“Our focus is to create long-term value for developers, business owners, government agencies, educational institutions and end users by combining our trusted reliability with intelligent automation, AI-driven technologies and sustainable innovation.”

He explained that the shift is attributed to the fundamental change in how consumers expect technology to work.

“Today’s consumers no longer want disconnected products that operate independently – they expect technology to work together seamlessly to deliver greater convenience, security and efficiency.

“This means a smarter and more convenient lifestyle for everyday Malaysians. Through a single ecosystem, users can manage lighting, air conditioning, smart locks, home appliances and security monitoring more efficiently.”

Seelan added that both ecosystems are designed to integrate with Panasonic’s wider product portfolio, creating a more holistic experience for customers.

“Instead of managing multiple disconnected systems, they enjoy a unified ecosystem that helps simplify daily routines, improve safety, reduce energy consumption and enhance overall quality of life,” he said.

“This reflects Panasonic’s vision of creating smarter, safer and more sustainable environments.”
