KLANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged all parties involved to be patient and allow space for the situation to de-escalate before addressing administrative issues in Negri Sembilan.

Anwar said any emerging crisis must be resolved in accordance with the state constitution and in line with the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir that Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun continue as Mentri Besar.

"As everyone knows, there are matters that must be settled under the Negri Sembilan Constitution.

"In the meantime, we follow the directive of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar," he was quoted as saying by Astro Awani.

Anwar was speaking to reporters after Friday prayers at the Nurul Iman Mosque in Rawang on May 1.

He also urged those involved to give Aminuddin room to continue administering the state, especially at a time the country is facing global economic challenges.

"Focus on that first. Want to grab what else? Just wait for a while.

"I have conveyed this to my colleagues in Pakatan Harapan and to the Umno leadership.

"We can negotiate, but for now let’s not disrupt efforts to revive the economy and protect the people’s interests," he added.
