A CARETAKER with a heart of gold is hoping to adopt a four-year-old boy after the child’s mother seemingly abandoned him, Kosmo! reported.

Dg Che Nor Hakimah Mudah, in her 30s, said the mother first sent the boy to her for foster care on March 26, with an agreed monthly fee of RM800 for full-time care.

However, Nor Hakimah said she only received RM100 in early April and was unable to reach the child’s mother afterwards.

She said she decided to adopt the child out of pity after seeing how loving the boy is, adding that the boy’s mother had agreed to the adoption after finally managing to contact her on April 10.

“I’ve grown very fond of him and feel sorry for him after seeing how affectionate he is as he sleeps with us every night.

“I plan to send him to pre-school next year and arrange a medical check-up if the adoption application is approved,” Nor Hakimah said.

She added that she would also not prevent the child’s biological mother from meeting her child if she wishes to do so.

> Singer Liza Hanim said she has privately apologised to rock band Spring vocalist Ameng after tensions flared between them due to a public argument, Berita Harian reported.

The dispute arose after Liza expressed disappointment over remarks made by Ameng related to a local reality show. This then led to Ameng publicly criticising her and accusing her of seeking cheap publicity.

Liza said she chose to remain silent after Ameng’s public comments to avoid worsening tensions, adding that she needed time to cool down before responding.

The 46-year-old said the argument between them was just a misunderstanding and described the episode as similar to a quarrel between siblings.
