KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's growth will be steered holistically to encompass economic and human capital development, social well-being and sustainability among other key aspects, says Tun Musa Aman.
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri said the state recorded RM7.6bil in investments last year, a 208% increase from 2024.
"This shows investor confidence and that Sabah continues to move forward on a positive note," he said when opening the state assembly sitting here on Thursday (April 23).
He said the state aims to strengthen development using more sustainable and inclusive approaches to continue boosting economic growth, balancing it with the people's wellbeing, environmental conservation and infrastructure development – main thrusts under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan.
Musa said SMJ 2.0 would be boosted with a strategic focus on the blue economy, digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI).
The 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) has also identified 10 main focuses aligned with the state's needs and potential.
A total of 1,173 projects have been planned under 13MP, he added, with RM12.024bil allocated.
"These plans will not be realised without the support and cooperation from all parties.
"It is time for us to unite regardless of race and religion or political affiliations, to build a better Sabah with responsibility for the good of all," he said.
The state assembly will sit from Monday to Thursday (April 27 to 30) next week.
