Tawau man arrested for threatening woman with scissors


KOTA KINABALU: A man who allegedly threatened a woman with scissors has been arrested in Tawau.

In the incident, the woman who knew the man was said to have told him off when he lit a candle at her house during the day.

Tawau OCPD Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin said the man was believed to have gotten angry after that.

The man then grabbed a pair of scissors and threatened the woman.

"Our officials who received a report immediately sent a team to the scene to take action," ACP Jasmin said in a statement on Wednesday (April 8).

The suspect, 35, was apprehended and a pair of scissors believed used in the incident was seized.

Both the suspect and the seized item were taken back to the police station.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
