PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to make a special visit to Jakarta today to discuss recent political developments amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

According to a statement from Wisma Putra, the visit is at the invitation of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

“The discussions will focus on recent geopolitical developments, particularly the conflict in West Asia, and their impact on regional stability and the global economy, including implications for Malaysia and Indonesia,” the statement read.

Both leaders are expected to intensify diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and ensure the continuity of global trade routes and supply chains, which are vital to the well-being of their citizens.
