Stay away from electrical installations, says TNB

IPOH: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has cautioned the public that electrical installations such as poles, cables and power lines pose serious risks and must not be tampered with.

It said that tampering with or damaging electrical installations is not only illegal but also carries a risk of electric shock, which can be fatal.

"The public is advised to stay away from electrical installations and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities or TNB to prevent untoward incidents,” it said in a statement on Tuesday (March 17).

TNB said it had provided full cooperation in the investigation into the deaths of three men, believed to have been electrocuted while attempting to steal cables from an electrical installation near Taman Rapat Mutiara here on Monday (March 16).

"The TNB team deployed to the scene has cooperated with the police and the Energy Commission to assist with further investigations,” it added. - Bernama
