GEORGE TOWN: Even with political differences and firm views on issues, there are better ways to handle it than spin stories, says Chow Kon Yeow.
The Penang Chief Minister said Malaysia is a country made up of people of different races, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds.
"We started our nation-building efforts since our independence (Merdeka).
"All of us have a responsibility towards our country to ensure that it continues to advance with the highest values, where the people are not marginalised and all interests and rights of the people are protected and valued.
"Those who want to (cause issues) or have an agenda that is opposite to this should think about what I have said," Chow said during a press conference held at his office in Komtar on Tuesday (March 17).
Chow was responding to questions by the press about recent provocations by individuals causing unrest in the state and nationwide.
Chow said whether it be political differences or firm views on issues, there is a better way to handle it.
"One must tell the truth. There is no need to spin stories.
"We should not take provocations as a big deal as well and consider the actions of a few individuals who can be made to realise their responsibilities and duties," he said.
