Previously, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed that the police had received a report alleging a "local influential individual" was working together with an international media agency in a bid to topple the government and sabotage national stability.

Toh Puan Na’imah Abdul Khalid, the wife of the late former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, has since dismissed the police report and denied involvement in any such plot.

Last week, Na'imah and her sons filed a lawsuit against the government over what they claimed to be an unlawful investigation against them.
