Bersatu’s Kiandee, Mas Ermieyati confirm receiving show-cause letters

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee Bersatu Srikandi chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin have been issued show-cause letters from the party’s disciplinary board over several allegations.

Without disclosing details of the letter, Kiandee said he received the document on Feb 28, reported Sinar Harian.

“Today (March 6) may be my last day speaking as vice-president because six days ago I received a show-cause letter from the party’s Disciplinary Board asking me to respond, and the deadline ends tomorrow.

“Whether I respond or not, I am certain action will still be taken and I believe it is aimed at removing us for supporting Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin,” he said when speaking at the Majlis Moreh Perdana and the launch of the Negri Sembilan Anti-Corruption Drive here on Friday (March 6).

The Bersatu chief whip said the letter was partly due to his action in sending a letter to Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan to inform him of the support of 13 Bersatu Members of Parliament for Hamzah as Opposition Leader in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Mas Ermieyati also confirmed she had received a similar letter but does not intend to respond.

“Tomorrow (today) is the deadline for me to respond to the letter. However, at this point I do not intend to reply. We will see what happens,” she said.

Previously, the party’s disciplinary board expelled Hamzah for allegedly breaching Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution.

After Hamzah, 16 other party leaders faced the same fate, including Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, Padang Rengas MP Kapten Azahari Hasan and Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob.

Two state assemblymen were also expelled, namely Sungai Manik assemblyman and Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin and Bemban assemblyman Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub.

Meanwhile, nine Bersatu division chiefs have also been expelled so far, namely Larut division chief Mohd Hassuandi Hamzah; Yunus Nurdin (Libaran); Datuk Abdul Aziz Ismail (Dungun); Ahmad Nasir Mid (Selayang); Ahmad Ishak (Gopeng); Kamaruddin Majid (Teluk Intan); Datuk Zulkifli Bujang (Johor Bahru); Ahmad Meon (Tangga Batu) and Tapah division chief Mohd Yunus Mohd Yusop.

Also expelled were Bersatu Srikandi Muda Sabah chief Nabila Norshahar and Bersatu Hulu Langat information chief Mohamad Shafiq Abdul Halim.
