KUALA LUMPUR: The operations control centre of the Fire and Rescue Department will carry out continuous field monitoring as a precaution following the earthquake that struck off the coast of Sabah early Monday (Feb 23) morning, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the National Disaster Management Committee chairman, said patrols were also being conducted in coastal areas near the Sabah International Convention Centre, as well as inspections in several districts, including Putatan, Kudat and surrounding areas, to ensure the situation remains safe and under control.
