PKR vet says he'll continue supporting Pakatan despite not defending his seat

JOHOR BARU: Pakatan Harapan veteran Hassan Abdul Karim has vowed to continue supporting the party despite not defending his seat.

The Pasir Gudang MP for PKR said he will not betray the party and will be campaigning for Pakatan in the upcoming general election.

"I will campaign for the party in the upcoming general election, even though I am already frail. Not strong enough to run, I will walk.

"Not strong enough to walk, I will use a cane. But betraying the party is never an option," he said in a statement on Sunday (Feb 22).

He said that despite differences in views and positions with party leaders on several issues, he will continue to "fight for justice as an ordinary member".

"The party must be defended. Leaders may come and go, but the party is not easily replaced," he added.

Hassan's remarks came after former Pakatan deputy president Rafizi Ramli reportedly said he will defend his Pandan seat in the next general election but is unlikely to contest under the party ticket.
