IT WAS a dream come true for Malaysian singer Mimifly after her image streamed over the renowned digital billboard at Times Square in New York City, United States, Harian Metro reported.

The image, which was placed by streaming platform Spotify, also marked a proud moment for Mimifly’s family and loved ones, with many expressing pride in the achievement.

“They were ecstatic. This really highlights the strong support system I have. They genuinely want the best for me,” she said.

Mimifly, whose real name is Shamimi Amalina Norisham, 40, said she had always envisioned moments where her image would make it on big billboard screens.

“When this became a reality, I was lost for words,” she said, adding that her loved ones helped take photos of her image on the billboard.

> The Malay daily also reported how members of the public successfully caught a 10kg infant estuarine crocodile (salt water crocodile) near a chicken processing plant in Pulau Gadong, Melaka, with only a snare and plastic compartmental boxes.

It was reported that a worker first noticed the one-metre-long crocodile and caught it with the help of others.

The video of the capture has since gone viral, with the animal later handed over to the Melaka Wildlife and National Parks Department.

> Kosmo! reported that director and producer Michael Ang said there was no need for an apology from actress Puteri Balqis, as she had not wronged him in any way.

Ang said there was never any animosity between the two.

“It was only a misunderstanding and nothing more,” he said in an Instagram post.

“Consider this matter resolved.”

Ang was among the local celebrities who were indirectly affected after his name was mentioned amid a controversy involving actresses Janna Nick and Puteri Balqis over social media.

Puteri Balqis had earlier stressed there was no issue between her and Ang and apologised for the situation.
