Three victims stable following ammonia gas leak at Seremban toll plaza


SEREMBAN: The three individuals who experienced shortness of breath after an ammonia gas leak at the Seremban toll plaza are in stable condition.

Negri Sembilan Health director Dr Zuraida Mohamed said two victims were treated at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital and discharged on Thursday (Jan 15), while the third received treatment elsewhere.

"The two victims are stable and were allowed to return home," she told Bernama.

Meanwhile, Negri Environment Department director Abdul Aziz Parmin said air quality in the area is safe with normal readings.

On Thursday, Fire and Rescue Department senior fire officer I (Operations) Mohd Faizal Abdul Rahman said one of 15 ammonia gas cylinders being transported in a lorry sprung a leak in the 2.40pm incident.

The victims were a PLUS security guard, a toll booth staff worker and the lorry driver. The situation was fully contained by 3.05pm. – Bernama
