Education remains a national priority, says Anwar

PETALING JAYA: Education will continue to be a national priority in ensuring the development of a future generation that is knowledgeable, morally grounded and resilient, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia Madani, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister, in a Facebook post Monday (Jan 12), stressed that the success of the education system does not depend solely on government policies and allocations, but also requires close cooperation between the government, parents and educators.

He said strong ties among all parties are important to ensure children receive comprehensive support, both at school and at home.

“By ensuring quality education that is rooted in values and humanity, we can be confident of producing a generation that is knowledgeable, of good character, and able to weather challenges with spirit and confidence,” he said in his post.

Earlier, Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, visited SK Sungai Besi, SJKC Kwong Hon and SJKT Sungai Besi to monitor the distribution of the Early Schooling Assistance (BAP) and to greet pupils starting the new school term on the first day.

“Seeing their excitement and their faces reminds us that every child not only carries their parents’ towering hopes, but also bears the confidence of teachers and the great aspirations of the nation’s future.

“Schools, besides being places to gain knowledge, are the first space for shaping character, discipline and identity,” he said.
