KUALA LUMPUR: A former chief executive officer of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) is expected to be remanded on Friday (Aug 21) to assist investigations into findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the pilgrimage fund.
It is learnt that the remand application is expected to be made by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at a Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court at 9am.
The expected remand follows investigations by a special team formed by MACC to examine the findings of the RCI into TH.
The RCI report was made public through the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) official portal on July 29.
The commission had examined various issues involving TH’s management and governance, with its findings subsequently prompting further scrutiny by the anti-graft agency.
MACC has since launched several investigations based on issues highlighted in the RCI report.
Earlier, the anti-graft agency detained seven individuals, including a company chief executive officer, two company directors and four former senior TH management personnel, to assist investigations linked to the RCI findings.
